Java Developer

Java Developer with background in core Java, threading, Spring, Oracle Agile / Scrum or XP , OO design patterns, with skills in the majority of messaging technologies, SOAP, REST, RMI, XML/RPC, JDBC, source code control, ideally who have worked on highly transactional or high throughput scalable/high availability systems are required by world leading Internet company based in London on their high profile sports betting systems.

Key responsibilities include

*Gathering and refining requirements from stakeholders
*Designing software that satisfies requirements, both business and architectural
*Implementing Java software to an agreed design
*Testing Java software to ensure a high degree of quality
*Maintaining Java software (implementing changes in accordance with new or amended requirements)
*Providing advice and troubleshooting support to front-line Support Teams
*Key Working Relationships
*Working closely with developers in other component teams to ensure efficient and consistent integration of services across teams
*Participating within the development community with the aim of promoting and improving software development within the company
*Building effective cross team relationships between product, customer support, operations and software development teams through communication, cooperation, and teamwork.

Its essential for this role that you have strong communications to work with stakeholders and contribute in a Agile environment.

Ideal backgrounds might include high volume systems such as media, broadcast, online gaming, online betting, trading/banking systems, E-commerce systems, telecoms, financial services etc
